Japanese microwave band plans

Point-to-point transport channel plans and low/high pairing, grouped by bandwidth. FWA is outside this list; any FWA material read is retained only in the source translations. TDD arrangements have no low/high pairing. All numbers below are MHz. start : step : end includes both endpoints; add the duplex offset to each low-group centre to obtain its high-group partner.

English source excerpts are kept in api_translations.

5.8 / 6 / 6.4 / 6.5 / 6.9 / 7.5 GHz

BW is the permitted occupied bandwidth. MIC's fixed-station tables F give the following pairs; the 2025 report L retains these bandwidth categories. The 6.5/7.5 GHz tables exclude broadcast-service stations; their 36.5 MHz rows are limited to telecommunications-service fixed stations. English tables and source scope.

For 6.5/7.5 GHz, the 28.5 and 36.5 MHz occupied bandwidths correspond to 30 and 40 MHz channel widths respectively (L, PDF p. 49). The older diagram B also shows 7.5 GHz multidirectional 2.5 MHz channels at 7456.25 : 2.5 : 7473.75, paired at +160 MHz; these are separate from the one-to-one fixed-station table above.

11 / 15 / 18 GHz

BW is the permitted occupied bandwidth (占有周波数帯幅の許容値), not the centre-frequency step. These are the plans reproduced in MIC's 2022 amendment comparison M; its channel tables are in the pre-amendment column. Page numbers below are PDF pages, counted from 1.

The 11 GHz normal arrangement for 36.5/72.5 MHz has low centres 10755 : 40 : 11155, ordinarily +530. Its first high centre is printed as 11258 (likely a typo for 11285); the translation retains the source value. MIC gives slot arrangements priority over normal arrangements.

The 40 MHz centre steps include the source's interleaved/polarization arrangements. The 11/15 GHz 9.5 and 18.5 MHz rows are the source’s mobile-backhaul plans. The mobile-backhaul subsets of the 36.5 MHz plans are 10735 : 40 : 10935 at 11 GHz and 14520 : 40 : 14640 at 15 GHz (M, PDF p. 51). For the 11 GHz 72.5 MHz system, the source specifies 69.5 MHz at the outer frequencies 10735 and 11665 MHz (M, PDF p. 14).

12 GHz

BW is the permitted occupied bandwidth. MIC's complete frequency table T uses 120 MHz duplex separation; the 2.5/5/9.5 MHz bandwidths share the same 10 MHz centre spacing. English source tables.

The 19 MHz plan additionally has 12450, 12470 and 12490 MHz for one-way communication only, with no paired low-group frequency.

22 GHz

MIC R labels these arrangements by channel width; ARIB A gives all the paired centres. Both use a 600 MHz offset.

The occupied-bandwidth limits Q are 6.6/13.2 for G7W, 8.2/16.4 for F9W (without/with error correction), and 37.2 for D7W. X7W permits 37.2 or 6.6/13.2. These are separate from the channel-width labels above. English tables and technical conditions.

For 40 GHz, a separate MIC-hosted sharing study, PDF p.23 specifies 37525↔38525 MHz with 42 MHz frequency bandwidth. That is one worked pair, not the full plan. English source table.

70/80 GHz

Bandwidth here is the channel width (チャネル幅). All four plans use a 10,000 MHz (10 GHz) duplex offset.
